Dallas Mavs CEO Cynt Marshall to Deliver Keynote at Fifth Annual Young Women's Leadership Conference

(DALLAS) – Today, the nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced business leader and author Cynt Marshall, CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, as the Debbie Storey Keynote Address speaker for the 2024 Young Women’s Leadership Conference (YWLC). The event will be held Monday, March 18 at the Bill and Margot Winspear Opera House.

Now in its fifth year, the YWLC welcomes more than 100 young women to the Center’s campus where they engage in leadership development activities and interactive breakout sessions, with a particular focus on leadership skills acquired in performing arts studies. The conference aims to empower these high school students with tools, skills and resources to overcome obstacles and work to create a more just world for all.

This year’s breakout sessions will be facilitated by Rachel Farmer and Ashley Rountree (Improvisation and Collaboration), Jessica Muñiz-Collado (Career Building), and Rebecca Clark (Creative Writing).

As an executive, Cynt Marshall has been a dynamic force of cultural transformation over her 36-year career. She joined the Dallas Mavericks in 2018 where transparency, trust and her values-based leadership style transformed the company’s culture in her first 100 days. Prior to joining the Mavs, she founded Marshalling Resources, a consulting firm specializing in Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion, Culture Transformation and overall optimization of people resources.

Widely recognized for her visionary leadership capabilities, Marshall has received several honors and awards, including the 2022 Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Upstander Award. In 2021: Forbes named her one of the world’s 15 most inspiring female leaders; Dallas WISE (Women In Sports and Events) honored her with the inaugural Women of Inspiration award; the Women’s Forum of New York bestowed the Elly Award; and Texas Women’s University recognized her with the Virginia Chandler Dyke Leadership Award.

In 2020, Marshall received Girl Scouts of America Lifetime Achievement award and was featured as one of Adweek’s 30 Most Powerful Women in Sports. In 2019, she was honored with the Women of Power Legacy Award by Black Enterprise and the National ATHENA® Leadership Program Award.

Previous YWLC keynote speakers include former First Lady Michelle Obama, broadcast journalist Soledad O’Brien, and Peabody Award-winning writer and producer Wendy Calhoun.
